I am a qualified translator and journalist, with considerable experience in my one specialisation:  global development. My mission is to contribute to informing and raising awareness of global development issues within your Latin American Spanish-speaking audiences through written communication. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified member of the UK Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) and ISO 17100:2015 Qualified.

  • Certificate in Community Translation from Open College Network (UK), with Level 3 in all three units.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK), with a merit in the Social Science paper.

  • Degree in Journalism from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), a five-year course.

EXPERIENCE

  • Since 2010 I have been focusing on the international development sector as a language professional for international NGOs.

  • Former visiting lecturer in postgraduate translation studies at University of Westminster, London.

  • Over ten years working with the former language services of the London boroughs of Islington, Haringey, Enfield and Camden.

  • Four years as the editor of Noticias, a newspaper which used to be published for the Latin American community in the UK.
